A chord diagram is used to visualize bidirectional flows. Since flows can move in both directions, the direction must be clearly indicated. To do so, direction of the flow can be shown with arrows or through the color of the connection lines. The connection lines, chords, can be single-colored, matching the origin side of the flow.
